JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Supervisor
OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
Lead a team of Senior Analysts and Analysts and assist the China Services Delivery Manager to deliver all Services (capital markets research used to support Client’s analysts in Japan, Hong Kong and potentially other Asia Pacific locations) from the Supplier to Client.
Responsibilities/Authorities
Ensuring operational / day to day delivery of service in accordance with requirements ;
operational issues resolution ;
operational relationship management and ongoing user feedback ;
responsibility for quality compliance of work submitted ;
coaching and team motivation.
Required tasks include:
A. The building, formatting and maintaining models, such tasks include:
i) updating of reports or models: Earnings, Dividends, Cash Flow, Commentary, Calendars updated
ii) build P L and b/s financial models
iii) recommend structuring and restructuring of the basic models built by Client
iv) model assumptions / Sensitivities development
v) integrating databases with the other models
vi) data gathering (either qualitative information, such as product information or industry company data in any form (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc.))
B. Calculate financial ratios
C. M A / LBO activities, to include:
i) value added news-flows analysis (value addition in the form of additional analysis / industry insight etc)
ii) managing interactions with multiple Client teams
iii) attend company presentations
iv) produce summaries for sales force
v) drafting sections of thematic/initiation reports
vi) notes to onshore analysts from a Company conf call (during earnings or other events)
vii) creating charts and graphs for publications
C. Writing news for daily/weekly -
i) preview / review notes
D. Working on Client platforms and databases
i) database building and maintenance
ii) perform thought leadership/conceptual work and suggest areas for further analyses
E. Composing company descriptions.
F. Ad hoc analyses and projects as requested from time to time
Must have:
Team management experience; performance management ; process improvement / troubleshooting ; motivation and mentoring ; strong client focused interpersonal skills ; time management and deadline adherence ; strong financial research process / operational knowledge.
Masters in Economics, Finance or MBA from a top tier University or Chartered Accountant (or equivalent);
2 years in financial services research role
Must have excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin. Japanese language fluency will be a big plus.
One or a combination of the following skills would be a big plus:
o Financial modeling skills using advanced Excel functions and VBA
o Database/statistical analysis
o Specific industry knowledge e.g. semiconductor, media, retail
o Survey design and implementation
